Heron pose in the field for the Appleford mobile studio recordings. It was a beautiful day and a series of wonderful shots were taken of the band. Originally intended as part of a full colour album cover production costs demanded that the inner sleeve was only printed in black and white. This photo is the only surviving full colour photo available. It gives you some idea of how the inner sleeve might have looked .
There follows a series of photos taken during the recording of ‘Twice as Nice and Half the Price’. Only a contact sheet remains so the it’s rather low quality – but good nostalgia:
